Online Mindfulness Sessions

What is Mindfulness?

During this interactive session, students learn about 5 important aspects of mindfulness including our inner world, our outer world, paying attention, breathing and kindness.

Mindfulness strategies

Students practise  different mindfulness techniques based on 6 areas: breathing, senses, verbal, physical, appreciation and visual exercises. Each practise is given an explanation as to why it works on a physical level in our bodies.    

Our Amazing Brains

Students learn about 3 important areas of our brains: the prefrontal cortex, amygdala and hippocampus and how they relate to our emotions, reactions and ability to learn.  

Body Systems

 How do big emotions create physical sensations in our body? Students learn how systems in our body, such as our senses, the limbic system and endocrine system, work together to create emotions and the 'fight or flight' response.


Paying attention with our senses

Paying attention is hard! Luckily we can practise the skill of attention through our senses. Students learn about their five senses, and how each one can be used to increase focus and awareness. This session culminates in a yummy mindful eating exercise.  

The importance of breathing

Most of us don't think twice about breathing, but our breath holds an important key to our mental and physical wellbeing. Along with practising different breathing exercises, students will learn how breathing affects our nervous system and helps to calm big emotions.


Our brains are designed to be kind! This session explores kindness, gratitude, appreciation and compassion. These are skills that we can grow and that have a big impact on our own happiness and relationships with others. 

The power of positivity

Our thoughts are powerful and they can affect how we are feeling, mentally and physically. This session explores positive and negative thoughts as well as worries and fears. Students will practise some mindfulness exercises to help them identify and manage their thoughts. 

Online Yoga Sessions

Mindful Movement

Moving mindfully requires us to use many body related skills at the same time including awareness, control, balance, breathing, curiosity and memory. This session looks at each skill individually and then puts them all together in a yoga sequence. 

Chair Yoga and eye exercises

Taking care of our body is important, especially when we are working virtually from home! Students learn how to stretch, bend and move their bodies and eyes to keep healthy while working online. 

Virtual yoga

(Upper Years) 

Get out of the chair and onto the floor with this virtual yoga session. 

Classes include breath work, sun salutation warm ups and yoga poses to promote balancing, strengthening and flexibility. Sessions will conclude with a calming savasana meditation.

Get your young students up and moving with this yoga animal adventure!   Students jump like a frog, hiss like a snake and follow along with all animal sounds and movements. Sessions include breath work, fun yoga poses and conclude with a calming savasana meditation.
